La Sonorosa is a group that offers innovative ways to reconstruct and perform the Iberian repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a section of a bigger music company called WorkinGOpera, created in 2012, specializing in Baroque opera performances.
Its members are professionals who specialize in the interpretation of historical music and dance, trained at internationally prestigious institutions such Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), the Schola Cantorum Basilensis, the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, the University of Montreal and the Royal College of Music in London. In addition to their individual solo careers, they also perform with groups and Ensembles internationally such as the Hisperion XXI, La Capella Reial de Catalunya, Le Concert des Nations, Al Ayre Spanish, Ensemble Gilles Binchois, L'Eventail, Donaires Ensemble, The Company National Classical Theatre, Le Poème Harmonique, the Cethera Ensemble, the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música.
La Sonorosa’s performances are lively and fresh and always respectful to historical performance. Based on musical and dancing sources, and literature and iconography of the time, they offer a well-informed historical interpretation.
